He was Deputy Mayor of ribe since at least from 1544 until his death in 1554.

ribe the cathedral is still preserved 2 panels, which should have belonged to a epitafium that was larger, on the one available 2 male, on the other 2 women's portraits. there seems to be no Forskjell execution. man's portrait, which last began to peel strength but now are restavrerede, are excellent. they fit the inscription; however mention that only 1 woman, while there are 2 female portraits, which are less well executed.

his sons carried:

1. later bishop, his Laugesen.

2. søren who died young.

3. Steffen Laugesen that after having studied at Wittenberg, his brother the bishop was made to the school master in Ringkjøbing and died there in 1575 in his 29THE years.

4. Jens Laugesen, who was Deputy Mayor of ribe and married his m. svannings daughter dorthe.

5. Christian Laugesen, merchant in ribe and married to Marine Bagge daughter, daughter of the rich Bagge Jensen.

6. mads Laugesen that in 1572 married marie long, a daughter of his long councilman in Flensburg and settled in this city, but died 14THE d. June 1595 in the supervisor.
